Millions of kids will visit trampoline parks this year. Will you be one of them? If so, experts are worried that you might bounce into trouble. In 2017, nearly 18,000 people landed in the hospital after getting hurt at trampoline parks. Accidents often happen when more than one person jumps on a trampoline at the same time.
“Parks have rules against this, but it still happens all the time,” warns pediatrician Michele LaBotz.
But others say there's no need to stop jumping. Trampoline park injury rates are about the same as soccer or volleyball injury rates. That's according to the International Association of Trampoline Parks (IATP).
“When following the rules, jumping at a trampoline park can be a healthy, fun experience,” says Bethany Evans from the IATP.
