From Screen to Sea
No, SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick didn’t leave Bikini Bottom. These are a different sea sponge and starfish. They were spotted more than 6,000 feet deep in the Atlantic Ocean. They were found on an underwater mountain called Retriever Seamount, about 200 miles from New York City. While SpongeBob and Patrick are pals, this kind of sea star actually eats sponges in real life. So much for being BFFs!
