Scientists at NASA, the U.S. space agency, have been looking for signs of life on Mars for decades. Last December, a spacecraft spotted a “bear” on the Red Planet! It’s actually an unusual formation on Mars’s rocky surface.

Scientists say a large crack forms the outline of the head. The eyes are two craters. And the snout and mouth are a hill that has partially collapsed. The photo was taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. The spacecraft has been circling Mars since 2006.
