Talk It Out: Tell a trusted adult how you’re feeling. Talking about your feelings can help you make sense of them. It can give you another way to think about the situation and help you decide how to handle it.
Breathe Deeply: Taking deep breaths signals your brain to relax. Try this: Inhale through your nose for four seconds. Hold it for four seconds. Then exhale through your mouth for four seconds. Repeat a few times.
Make Sense: This activity can help you refocus when you’re feeling overwhelmed by emotions. Name five things you see, four things you hear, three things you feel, two things you smell, and one thing you taste.
